Homeschool Classes
Spanish - Conversational Spanish Class(All ages) Tuesday - (Usually 1st and 3rd of month) - 11:00-12:30 and
Spanish Grammar / Individual help (same Tuesdays as Conversation) – 11:00-11:30. Those earning high school credit need to participate in both sections. 

Elementary Class- This class covers a variety of areas using Charlotte Mason methods, topics of Classical Education and the Neurodevelopmental Approach. (Grades K-6 – 1:00-4:00 Two Tuesdays a month for a total of 18 sessions- Usually 1st and 3rd.)

Picture This – Survey of the book of Genesis and memory verses.
Logic activities (Critical Thinking Press)
Exposure to three modern European languages (French, German and Spanish).
Latin and Greek Roots (for English vocabulary).

Brain Smarts - Individualized (Diagnostic) Math and Language Arts or Neurodevelopmental Programs – As a minimum, students sign up for a two hour session each week and make up times can be arranged from the other available times. Times: 10:00-12:00 or 11:00 –1:00 or 12:00-2:00 We do not prorate the tuition because of absences so families must arrange make up times with the instructor. This class is designed for students who need individualized help in math, language arts or neurodevelopmental program. In math, we are concentrating on the building blocks of higher level math. For language arts, we will work on spelling, grammar or other areas. We can provide respite for parents with children on neurodevelopmental programs. In addition to the monthly tuition, a materials fee may be assessed. Students will work independently in "Brain Smarts Stations" while waiting their turn to spend time with the teacher.

 

Academy Northwest Classes

English and American Literature (1.0 credit)/ Contemporary World History (1.0-1.5 credits) / Biblical Worldview (.5 credit) 10:00-1:00 Usually 4th Tuesday of the month – with individual family meetings in the afternoon. (Grades 7-12) – The Politically Incorrect Guide to English and American History by Elizabeth Kantor PhD; Ancient Rome How it Affects You and The Thousand Year War by Richard J. Maybury. Students will participate in private weekly, YahooGroups discussion of books read. (Port Orchard – usually 2nd Tuesday of the month.) In addition, any student enrolled in this class or an online class may attend the Brain Smarts class for 2 hours a week to work on any difficulties or on graduation requirements (English, Math and Research Competencies or Portfolio) at no additional cost.

When enrolling in specific classes the parent and student must plan on at least 4 hours a month of time with teacher.

1st Quarter – English and BWV
2nd Quarter – English and begin CWH
3rd and 4th Quarters CWH

(At the end of 1st semester, students completing all of the work will earn 1.0 credit of English and .5 credit of BWV. At the end of 2nd semester, students may earn 1.0 or 1.5 credits in Contemporary World History.)

Rotation of Secondary ANW Classes: Pacific Northwest History / World Geography; American History and Government; Contemporary World Problems with Biblical Worldview; Economics with Life Practicum. (English is offered with the History classes.)

Tuition and Fees

ANW Registration - $125.00 ($90.00 before 6/20)
            Family with 3 or more - $280 ($200 before 6/20)

MELC Orientation – New students $50.00; $30.00 for additional students in family
            Returning students - $30.00 each

Yearly Tuition – (1 class – minimum 4 hours a month)
           K through 8 - $1,287.00
           9 through 12 - $1,503.00
Additional classes (4 hours a month) $360.00

(20% discount for additional student in family for tuition.)          

Weekly 2-hour sessions of Brain Smarts: $720.00 ($80.00 a month). For multiple 2-hour sessions a week, ask for individualized price quote.

ANW One credit option/one semester fee: $100.00 (TC Fee varies.)
ANW One credit option over year fee: $125.00 (TC Fee varies.)
