Homeschool Annual Non-Test Assessment by Skype –A parent must sit in with the child so you can provide oversight (as needed) and can give us input. This is pretty much the same as a non-test assessment in person. During the first part, the student interacts with the administrator by answering general information questions. After that part, the administrator will share her screen to show students a list of words for reading recognition; comprehension sentences, math problems, and spelling words with multiple choices to questions During the neurodevelopmental screening, the child must have a blank piece of paper and pencil in order to follow directions given by the administrator. After the assessment, the administrator will explain the results and answer questions. You choose whether you want your child to be a part of this time or not. You will receive the test results by e-mail. Preparation for Using Skype –If you already are set up and used to using Skype the only thing to remember is that you need a webcam, microphone and speakers (so you and your child can hear the conversation – when both are a part of the assessment or consultation.1. Download free software from www.Skype.com. 2. Follow links from Skype to purchase (or at least learn about) the equipment you will need. a. Webcam – if you don’t have a built in webcam, you can purchase one to attach to or stand beside your computer. b. Headset – if only one person is communicating, this will work because it has a microphone and earphones. c. Speakers – for sessions where two or more people are communicating with me. 3. Practice with friends or family before our appointment. Click here to pay and begin the process of setting an appointment. |
