Testing and Evaluation Services

Washington State law requires that all independently home schooled students, between the ages of 8-18, to be assessed annually. Choose the type of assessment that fits your child best. We offer the following:

Standardized Testing

California Achievement Test – CAT-5

¨      Levels 14-22

¨      Each level spans 3 grade levels

¨      3rd – 12th grades

¨      Those not ready for level 14 should use non-test assessment – see below.

¨      Hand – scored by parent unless you pay for it to be scored

¨      Fulfills Washington State Homeschool Law for annual assessment.

Stanford Achievement Test and Iowa Test of Basic Skills

¨      Available for K-12

¨      Make appointment with CFND Testing and Evaluation Services several weeks in advance.

¨      Parents order materials from BJU Testing and Evaluation Service.

¨      BJU sends to our administrator who sends it back to BJU.

¨      You pay twice – once to BJU and once to CFND.

Prices for Standardized Tests - $40.00-$50.00 (depending on size of group) if parents help with scoring. Our scoring fee is $15.00 per test. See registration forms and 2013 Testing Letter for more information

 

Assessments, Evaluations and More

Non-Test Assessment – up to 1 1/2 hours; $60.00

·         PIAT-R (Peabody Individual Achievement Test-Revised) – Given orally - General Information, Reading Recognition, Reading Comprehension, Math and Spelling

·         Optional – evaluation of a one-page writing sample – corrected with criteria; instructional lesson for one area of concern) - $15.00

·         Each additional half hour $15.00

·         Neurodevelopment Screening (auditory and visual processing; dominance)

·         NTA Report

·         Fulfills requirement for annual homeschool assessment in Washington State.

Homeschool Helps or Special Helps Consultation Fees

$60.00 – per hour

Brain Training – Individualized, Diagnostic Math and Language Arts or Neurodevelopmental Programs

  • From 2 hours per week to daily.  Morning and afternoon times available by appointment.

  • Designed for students who need individualized help in:

  1.  Math – basics, prep for high school math – and/or

  2.  Language arts – reading, spelling, grammar, writing and/or

  3. Neurodevelopmental program – Individualized Neurodevelopmental Plan or Plan Of Action.

  •  Materials / supplies fee may be assessed.

  • Students work in "Brain Training Stations" while waiting their turn to spend time with a teacher / tutor.

  • Parent (or designated helper) is encouraged to stay minimum of 50% of the time to help and to learn how to do the program when the child is not in the center.

  • Most of the activities done in Brain Training are more effective if done at least 5 days a week.

  • A student who can and will work independently will be paired with another student. During a 2-hour session, each student will work independently for a total of 40 minutes, work one-on-one with the brain trainer for a total of 40 minutes and work together with the other student and the brain trainer for a total of 40 minutes.

  • Students who cannot or will not work together will be scheduled individually.

  • We work with families with multiple children. Their schedule may be customized.

  • We do not prorate the tuition because of absences so families must arrange make up times with the instructor.

  • Individual rate - $50.00 per hour.

  • One-on-two rate - $50.00 per 2-hour session.

  • Parents may use our facilities / materials to do part or their entire child’s INP / POA  - $15.00 an hour.

  •  CBI for CVA, MP3 and OASIS

 

Neurodevelopmental Evaluation/Individualized Neurodevelopmental Plan (INP)

  • Ongoing parent support between evaluations given every four months.

  • Families who work consistently, following their INP often find their child increasing one grade level in math and reading every four months.

  • Includes academic testing: Math (WRAT), Reading Recognition (WRAT), Reading Comprehension (PIAT).

  • Assessment of all areas of sensory input and motor output using developmental profile.

  • INP targets areas of inefficiency.

  • INP can be your homeschool program.

  • Fulfills state requirements for homeschool assessment in Washington State.

Academy Northwest – Accredited by Northwest Association of Accredited Schools.

  •  Students earn credits for high school diploma.

  • Students work at home and with teacher consultant independently or in small groups.

  • Ideal for students who need one-on-one help and are working on graduation requirements.

We will go to you IF:

  • You provide the location

  • You provide at least 10 students

  • You provide parent proctors (supervisors) when needed

It can be:

  •  A combination of NTAs and CAT

  • We provide brochures and registration forms (hard copies &/or e-mail information)

  • Ask about special arrangements
